Howdy Folks, it is Wednesday October 20th , striking midnight and I’m sending my blog!

Played some fun sold-out shows this month, lots of fun down in Palacious at The Outrigger.  And enjoyed the company of old friends driving from Houston. Ellen and Van Valentine, what a treat. And spending time with Wayne and Cheryl Dodd, our hosts for breakfast the next morning before our trip home.  We discussed old movies we have watched recently and Cheryl sent the link to “The War”, which we will check out soon!   

Then the next weekend down to the Old Quarter Acoustic Café in Galveston to a packed listening room.  We checked and realized it had been since early 2020 since we were.  We meaning Michael Hearne with me at the Old Quarter.  Then Michael joined me at Linda Lowe’s Writers in the Round @ Main Street Theater the next day! 

 

The CMA’s of Texas were scheduled for Wed. October 13; however due to illness of the director, it had to be rescheduled.  So, I’ll have to wait for my “Living Legend Award” until Thursday, January 27th 2022.  Instead of Lubbock, it will be held in Austin at the “Last Chance Bar and Dancehall”.  Little bit closer for us than Lubbock! 

 

Michael and I played another sold out show at the Red Bird Listening Room in New Braunfels and the newest “Songwriter” to be honored at the CMA’s of Texas, Dallas Burrow, was our host and opened for us. If you haven’t checked out the Red Bird Listening Room, I highly recommend it. 

 

Coming up this Friday, Oct.22 8 pm - 10 pm The Post at River East  Shake Russell with Anthony Klonaris on guitar.  Doors at 5:00 PM, music at 8:00 PM.  Come early for dinner!   www.thepostatrivereast.com for tickets.  

  

Then on Sunday October 24th Michael Hearne and Mike Roberts will join me at the beautiful Bernhardt Winery in Plantersville, TX.  Looking forward to it! Bring your lawn chair, cooler, snacks and enjoy the scenery and the music. And drink the Bernhardt Wine!

Last but not least, Anthony and I will be at the great and iconic Anderson Fair in Houston on Friday, October 29th.  Hope you can make that show!!!  www.andersonfair.net for tickets!  8:30 show.  Doors at 7:30 PM.
